What is the name of this dessert I had - it was in Cyprus and the best thing I have ever had in my life?
Filed Under cyprusapartments | 3 Comments
About ten years ago I was in Cyprus and had a dessert at a hotel there. It was like layers of wafer, mixed with honey and icecream/cream. It tasted like heaven. It was a warm dessert. I did not make a note of the name and I have not stopped thinking about it since. I have tried to find it but people keep thinking I mean this cake like thing - it was not cake at all. It was not almond or marzipan either. Please help.

Why do many cities and islands in Greece and Cyprus have different anglicised names in English?
Filed Under cyprusapartments | 8 Comments
I have noticed that many major cities and islands in Greece and Cyprus have anglicised versions. For example:
Athens instead of Athina
Salonica instead of Thessaloniki
Nicosia instead of Lefkosia
Famagusta instead of Ammochostos
Corfu instead of Kerkyra
Crete instead of Kriti
The list is endless. Why didn’t they just call the capital ‘Athina’ instead of changing it to ‘Athens’?

How much is the average salary of a young engineer with 3 years’ experience in construction in Cyprus?
I’m greek, and I am thinking of applying for a job at a construction company in Nicosia. In case they ask me how much I want, what should I tell them?
An engineer in Greece with my qualifications would get paid something around 1200-1300 euros, what’s the equivalent in Cyprus?

What are some secure, attractive apartments that have nearby trails to run?
Filed Under cyprusapartments | 4 Comments
Any helpful advice where to find such apartments (if attainable) gladly accepted.
Also, any guidance on traffic, i.e. where are routine rush hour backups?
I’ve read up on previous answers, how are Garden District, Carrollton? Rent preferably not more than $2000/month.

Why do expensive apartments have more problems then cheaper apartments?
Filed Under cyprusapartments | 2 Comments
According to what I’ve seen on apartmentratings.com, it seems that expensive apartments have more problems with bad management, noisy tenants, crime, and poor build quality. Why is that so? Wouldn’t you think if you paid more a month for an apartment you would get nicer management, friendlier and quieter tenants, less crime and better build quality?
I live in a cheaper apartment complex and the management is great and the tenants are really nice and friendly.

How to find apartments in the greater Orange County, CA area?
Filed Under cyprusapartments | 6 Comments
I need to find a good resource for finding apartments in this area. Maybe a leasing agent? I want to know ALL options for apartment renting. Including apartment complexes, small apartment buildings, and houses that are separated into rental units.
Hey, guess what. I LIVE IN MICHIGAN AND DONT HAVE ACCES TO AN ORANGE COUNTY PHONEBOOK, Jerk. I don’t need a smart-a$$ answer.
I really wish I could delete certain answers. I can’t understand why yahoo-ers need to be rude. I dont have a tough guy attitude, Im just easily irritated when people assume things about others. The first guy that left an answer assumed that im to stupid to figure out how to use a phone book. I really wish that everyone could respect one another. Im sorry that so many of you immediatly want to insult your fellow yahoo users.

Do you need a real estate license to advertise apartments online?
Filed Under cyprusapartments | 4 Comments
I am starting an online business that advertises for apartment complexes and rental homes in texas and iowa. My question is, in order to advertise for the apartments, will I need to be a licensed real estate agent? I am not selling or renting the properties, I am only providing a place for the owners/companies to advertise what they have available.

Do you know what brand/type of paint is used in apartments?
Filed Under cyprusapartments | 9 Comments
I want to do some spot-painting in my apartment, but I want to make sure it’s the exact same thing. Does anyone know specifically, what generic brand or style paint is used for white walls in apartments, the cost and where I can find it?

I am currently looking for a new apartment and have been told by several people that garden apartments are not safe for babies. Does anyone know why? I’m thinking it has something to do with lots of dust being collected or the possibility of mold or because it could be too cold and drafty? I don’t like garden apartments anyhow, so I won’t ever be moving into one, I am just curious as to why they shouldn’t live there, nobody has really given me an answer except that they just shouldn’t!
A garden apartment is an apartment that is either right on street level or in the basement.
